FG Increases Corps Members Allowee to N33,000
The Federal Government has increased the monthly allowance of corps members in the country by about 67 percent.
Under the new arrangement, members are to receive monthly allowance of N33,000. Before the new adjustment, the allowance was N19,000 in a month.
Director General of National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC), Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, announced the increase during a working visit to the NYSC secretariat in Bauchi.
He disclosed that the increase is in line with the new minimum wage approved by the federal government.
In a statement on the official Facebook page of NYSC, Ibrahim stated that provisions for the new allowance have been made in the 2020 budget adding that payment would commence as soon as funds are released by the appropriate authorities.
