Bello Promises To Sack Any Corrupt Commissioner
Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has warned the newly appointed commissioners to desist from corrupt practices or be sack from the cabinet.
Bello gave the warning in Lokoja on Wednesday when the 17 newly appointed commissioners were sworn in.
He said, “The anti-corruption agencies have scrutinised us based on petitions written by various people who are not happy with the way we carry out our reforms, and they have found us clean.
“Don’t tarnish our reputation with corrupt practices, anyone found wanting will not be spared.”
He urged the commissioners to make themselves accessible to the people and be accountable in their dealings.
The new commissioners were sworn in by the governor on Wednesday at the Government House, Lokoja.
The swearing ceremony came barely 48 hours after he took his oath of office for his second term.
The governor also announced the appointments of 30 new special advisers and their portfolios.
