U.S. Bans Issuance Of Immigration Visas To Nigerians
The United States has imposed a ban on the issuance of immigration visas to Nigerians it emerged late on Friday.
The Wall Street Journal in a report said citizens from Nigeria and three other countries, Eritrea, Myanmar and Kyrgyzstan would be banned from applying for immigration visas under the new policy to be implemented by the Donald Trump administration.
The visa ban adds to the administration’s policy blocking travel from seven other countries to the United States.
“Citizens from Nigeria, Eritrea, Myanmar and Kyrgyzstan won’t be allowed to apply for visas to immigrate to the U.S. under the policy, which the Trump administration said was designed to tighten security for countries that don’t comply with the U.S. minimum security standards or cooperate to prevent illegal immigration,” the Wall Street Journal reported.
