Nigerians have taken to the social media, especially on Twitter, to express delight in the ‘From Ajegunle to Manchester United’ inspiring story of Odion Ighalo.

Ighalo completed a loan deal from Shanghai Shenhua to Manchester United for the rest of the season.

The deal makes him the first Nigerian player to play for Manchester United.

Since the announcement of Ighalo’s transfer to Manchester United, over 200,000 tweets have been generated, with many Nigerians rating the striker as the best number 9 that had ever worn the Nigeria jersey.

Ighalo had once attributed his career accomplishments to God’s favour, a attribution that sparked social media controversy.

However, with Friday’s deadline transfer, many Nigerians now believe that Ighalo’s inspiring story from Ajegunle to Manchester United is beyond human reasoning.
