Deregistration: PDM Heads To Court

One of the 74 political parties deregistered by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Thursday, People’s Democratic Movement (PDM) has vowed to approach the court to reverse the ban.

Speaking through the National Chairman, Chief Frank Igwebuike, the party described the plan by INEC as impunity galore.

“INEC can’t deregister PDM… INEC illegally excluded PDM from the 2019 elections without obeying court orders and is now deregistering PDM.

“He has goofed. We are currently going to the court for justice. Nigeria and Nigerians are on trial.”

The Independent National Electoral Commission, on Thursday, deregistered 74 political parties as preparations for the 2023 general elections gather momentum.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, disclosed at a press conference in Abuja.
