Police Arrest Frustrated Husband For Trying To Kill Wife
The police in Lagos have apprehended a man, Christopher Lament for allegedly attempting to kill his wife in their Bariga, Lagos apartment.
Sources disclosed that the wife of the alleged culprit was rescued after policemen from Bariga Division stormed their residence following a distress call from neighbours.
The man who lost his job about five years ago was said to have been frustrated by his economic condition and an argument at the weekend with the wife was said to have led him to pick a knife to stab his wife.
Confirming the arrest, Lagos police spokesman, DSP Elkana Bala, said, ” the knife was recovered and registered as exhibit. The couple have been married for 13 years and blessed with two children of ages 9 and 11 respectively. Both are from Akwa Ibom State.
“The suspect lost his banking job five years ago and the woman is also not working. They have been having series of crisis underpinned on matrimonial rascality and lack of maintenance. The event that led to the attempt made by the suspect to stab the victim with a knife, started with a mere argument. Investigation is ongoing and the suspect will be charged to Court”.
