Covenant Named Among 100 Best Varsities In Developing Countries

Covenant University is the only Nigerian university named among the best 100 universities in the emerging economies category of 2020 in the annual list released by Times Higher Education (THE)

The Bishop David Oyedepo inspired university was ranked 91st in the annual list released by Times Higher Education (THE), on Tuesday.

The institution was the only Nigerian university to make the list in the 100 best universities.

Covenant University was jointly ranked in 91st spot with National Yang-Ming University, Taiwan and the University of Perandeniya, Sri Lanka.

THE disclosed that the list included only institutions in countries classified by the London Stock Exchange’s FTSE Group as ‘advanced emerging’, ‘secondary emerging’ or ‘frontier”, added that the ranking was done using 13 key performance indicators of institutions including their teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

The University of Ibadan (UI) got the 105 position while the University of Lagos (UNILAG) was ranked 201–250 out of the 533 universities.
