Nigerians have taken to Twitter to call for the disengagement of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad following the death of Tiyamu Kazeem, (popularly known as Kaka), a player with Remo Stars FC in an encounter with the Police on Saturday.

It was learnt that Kazeem, was arrested by the SARS squad in Sagamu for allegedly being a Yahoo Boy and was said to have been pushed by an officer of SARS from the Police van conveying him and was crushed by an oncoming vehicle.

However, the Ogun State Police Command has countered the claim as it said that Kazeem was arrested for wearing a military cap and died while trying to escape arrest.

The unfortunate development has again generated outrage on Twitter, with about 20,000 tweets, with the hashtag #EndSARS, calling for the disengagement of SARS.

Those who reacted highlighted what they described as the inhumane treatment of innocent citizens by the officials of SARS.

Recently, the BBC Africa Eye, in a documentary video, x-rayed the torture and inhumane treatment of detainees by Nigeria security agencies, especially SARS.
