2023: Why Lagos Remains Hard Nut For PDP – Ex-Commissioner
By Augustine Adah
A chieftain of All Progressives Congress, (APC), in Lagos State, Chief Lanre Razak has described the promised made by Peoples’ Democratic Party, (PDP) that it would take Lagos from the control of APC in 2023 as a mere wish that cannot be realized.
According to Rasaq, who served as commissioner for Transportation under Bola Tinubu, APC in the last 21 years have provided purposeful leadership which cannot be faulted by any Lagosian.
He explained that the good foundation laid by Tinubu’s administration which was built upon by successful administrations has made it impossible for any political party to think of defeating APC in any election in the state.
He was reacting to recent comments by the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde and PDP stalwart, Chief Olabode George that the APC should be ready for defeat in Lagos State come 2023.
Rasaq further stressed that since such dream by former president Olusegun Obasanjo in 2003 could not succeed, it would amount to waste of time and energy for PDP to think of such feat at this time.
He applauded the present administration of Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the vision to transform the state to enviable height.
He said, “We the electorate in Lagos State are happy and fully appreciate the progressive governance instituted by the National Leader of the APC and the architect of modern Lagos, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he was governor between 1999 and 2007 which has transformed the state to be the most economically and financially viable among the 36 states especially his financial wizardry.”
