Sanusi: Kwankwanso Exonerates Ganduje, Blames Buhari
By Ayodele Oluwafemi
Surprise exoneration for Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State over the deposition of Emir Muhammad Sanusi II has come from his bitter political rival, predecessor and former political patron, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Kwankwanso has revealed that the decision to depose Sanusi II as the emir of Kano was foisted on the Governor Ganduje by superior political forces above the governor. He specifically blamed President Muhammadu Buhari of interfering in the affairs of Kano.
Kwankwaso then as a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, installed Sanusi as the Emir of Kano Emirate in 2014.
“President Buhari is interfering in the affairs of Kano State,” Kwankwaso told BBC Hausa on Wednesday.
“The President is involving himself in Kano affairs. But where he is expected to speak, he will not. He only speak where he is not required to.”
Kwankwaso also dismissed the allegation that he issued a query to the dethroned Emir during his administration as the Governor of Kano State.
“I have never issued a query to His Highness, (the) Emir of Kano,” he said.
