Senate Asks Buhari To Reassure Nigerians On Coronavirus
By Ayodele Oluwafemi
The Senate has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to address Nigerians on the latest developments concerning the outbreak of coronavirus in the country.
The upper chamber also urged the Federal Government to shut down all international airport, except Lagos and Abuja airports for easier monitoring of the disease.
This was sequel to a motion moved by Senator Danjuma Goje (APC, Gombe) during plenary on Wednesday.
Nigerians have, in recent times, criticized Buhari over failure to address the nation, in this outbreak of Coronavirus.
The lawmakers urged FG to ensure that testing centers are opened in the each state of the federation.
They also moved that no member of the National Assembly should travel during this period to countries with high risk of the virus and anyone who travels should quarantine for two weeks.
