UCH CMD Tests Positive Asks Aides To Go For Test
The Chief Medical Director University College Hospital, Ibadan, Prof Jesse Otegbayo, says he has tested positive for COVID-19 and has as such gone into self-isolation.
The revelation of the impact on doctors and nurses came with the news that doctors and nurses at a General Hospital in Lagos ran away after a foreigner suspected with having the disease was brought to the hospital.
Prof Otegbayo revealed his status in a statement he issued on Sunday morning.
He said: “Unfortunately, my result returned positive on Saturday afternoon and I remain in isolation as I am not symptomatic.
“All staff who have been in contact with me and other participants during this period have been advised to immediately proceed on self-isolation pending the time they get tested.”
