The Executive Director of Stand To End Rape Initiative, Oluwaseun Ayodeji Osowobo, a survivor of the COVID-19, has taken to the microblogging platform, Twitter, to announce that she survived from the deadly virus.

The Lagos State Government announced, on Monday, announced that five Coronavirus patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus.

After the announcement, Oluwaseun, in a series of tweets, on Monday, noted she had returned from the UK for the post-Commonwealth event when she fell ill and days later tested positive for COVID-19.

“Life finds ways of throwing LEMON at me. I’ve struggled w/ coming forward, but I want to inspire hope. I returned to Nigeria from the UK post-Commonwealth event (I totally enjoyed) & fell ill. As a responsible person, I self-isolated. Days after, I TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID-19,” she wrote.

The Coronavirus survivor tweeted that she was taken to an isolation center by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), and following treatment has survived the deadly virus.

She urged people to get tested for the virus and practice the necessary preventive measures, while commending the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu,  the State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi  and the team at Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba Lagos for the roles played in her recovery.
