COVID-19: Ondo Declares 3-Days Fasting & Prayer

The Ondo State Government has declared a three-day period of fasting and prayers commencing from Thursday, 2nd to Saturday, 4th April to solicit God’s grace in keeping the state safe from COVID-19.
Governor Rotimi Akeredolu gave the directive in a tweet which was followed by a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation Mr. Donald Ojogo.
The governor while making the declaration on Instagram said:
“In response to the trend in the number of cases around Ondo State, I have
ordered the immediate closure of our borders with the neighbouring states of
Ekiti, Osun, Kogi, Edo and in particular Elefon, our coastal boundary with Ogun
State.
“Also even as we play our part in putting in place precautionary measures, Isolation Centres, Treatment Centres, Massive Sensitization via all our TV, radio and other social media platforms, we should also endeavor to seek the face of our maker, the all knowing God, the doctor of doctors, in a way of thanking God for his grace, continuous favour enjoyed in our State ,
According to 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sins and will heal their land.”
“Government hereby declares a 3-day period of fasting and prayers commencing from Thursday, 2nd to Saturday, 4th April for Ondo State and Nigeria.”
