COVID-19: Obuah Backs Wike Against APC Attacks

The outgoing Rivers State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bro Felix Obuah has flayed those supposedly taking advantage of Governor Nyesom Wike’s expedient actions to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic to ridicule his person.

Bro Obuah in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jerry Needam made the declaration against what he described as the fallacious claims of the South-South zonal secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC David Okumgba on the actions of the governor.

Obuah regretted that in a time when all civilized persons, men and women with conscience across the globe have set partisan politics apart to fight this common enemy to save humanity from impending extinction, that Okumgba would use the opportunity to whip up partisan and primordial  sentiments.

“The anger of Okumgba and his paymasters however, is that despite the stampede, the conspiracies and wishful thinking of political detractors of the God-sent Governor, the pandemic has not spread in the state, let alone recording any death to the glory of God”, the outgoing party chairman noted.

Rather than jumping to irrational conclusion about the palliatives and the methodology of distribution, Bro Obuah said Okumgba and his benefactors should have waited in the absence of any meaningful contribution to make, to see how a “visionary leader, and concerned Governor would ensure that the effects and other consequences of the Coronavirus are made available to the people.”

“Coronavirus has been globally described as the worst threat to mankind since the end of World War II. The wide-fire-like spread, the ease with which it kills its victims, defying all medications and not sparing even the medics is mysteriously alarming”, the outgoing State PDP Chairman lamented.
