The former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has chided the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun for issuing exemptions to Dangote drivers from the lockdown in the state.

The Ogun State Government, in a letter dated 4 April, 2020, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, informed the necessary stakeholders that trucks belonging to Dangote Plc are exempted from the restriction of movement and total lockdown in the state.

“This is to confirm that Dangate Plc. trucks are exempted from the restriction of movement and total lockdown of the State as a result of the corona wrus (COVID-19) Pandemic. You are requested to permit the trucks move freely within the State because of essential muIti-sectoral services the company renders to the public,” part of the letter reads.

Fani-Kayode, took to his official Twitter handle, to query the governor of the state for issuing such waiver to Dangote Plc, while asking if Dangote drivers are immune to COVID-19.

The former aviation minister, claimed that some of the sons of the Southwest usually tremble before their masters, indirectly relating it to the Federal Government, to make favourable decision for them, while asking if Southern businessmen would be given similar exemptions.

“Dapo Abiodun ought to explain this. Are some more equal than others? It is a crying shame that a few sons of the SW bow, quiver & tremble before their masters. Are Dangote’s drivers & trucks immune to Covid 19? Will u give similar exemptions to southern businessmen? Shame on u!,” he tweeted.
