Dangote Exemption: Fani-Kayode Replies Abiodun
By Ayodele Oluwafemi
Former Minster of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has hit back at the Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State over comments bordering on the exemption of Dangote trucks from the Coronavirus lockdown in the state.
Earlier, the governor noted that whoever is not satisfied with the treatment of Dangote should become another Dangote. It was a hit back at critics like Fani-Kayode who had lambasted the governor for giving preferential treatment to Dangote.
“So when people start saying things like this, I don’t know how many Dangotes are there in this country or in this continent, as far as I know, Dangote is Africa’s richest man today. So, If I give Dangote an exception and you think he is not deserving of it, you can choose to be a Dangote and I will give you that exception as well,” the governor said.
Fani-Kayode, on Wednesday, via his Twitter handle said he is not interested in the tax exemptions given to Dangote.
“Someone tell Dapo Abiodun that my name is Femi Fani-Kayode. I am quite happy to be a Fani-Kayode & I have no desire to be a Dangote. I am not interested in tax exemptions from his Ogun State or in selling my soul to satan. I ask again, does he have to be a slave to feel fulfilled?” he tweeted.
