APC Group Decries Alleged Blackmail Of SGF

The All Progressives Congress, APC Mandate Defenders has dismissed what it Sunday alleged as a campaign of calumny directed against the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha over an alleged scandal concerning Ecological Funds.

The group in a statement said the allegations against the SGF were meant towards distracting him in his duties as Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce against the spread of Coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement released to newsmen in Abuja on Sunday by the National Publicity Secretary of APC Mandate Defenders, Mr. Ifeanyi Emeka, the group said the sudden rise in social media attacks and blackmails against Boss Mustapha is as a result of the towering goodwill and commendations his professional handling of the battle against the spread of the pandemic has brought to him.

The group recalled that a similar attempt was recently made to link the SGF with the mismanagement of some Federal  Constituency Projects across the country before it was discovered that his office do not handle or manage the project.

“For the sake of clarity, we wish to state categorically that the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation is not a contract awarding institution but an office saddled with the responsibility of monitoring and coordinating the implementation of Federal Government Policies and Programmes.

“We therefore call on the reading public to ignore the fake news story against the SGF as that is the handiwork of mischief makers.”
