Father Of Two Held For Rape Of Eight Year Old Girl

A 28-year-old father of two, Adetayo Razaq has been apprehended by the police in Lagos for allegedly raping an eight-year-old girl in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.

The man, a tiller was said to have lured the girl with biscuit living in the same compound with him into his room and allegedly had carnal knowledge of the young girl.

The girl whose parents are separated it was gathered had been left in the custody of her senior siblings by her father.

On returning the girls father was said to have found her rolling in pains complaining of stomach pains. The girl was said to have narrated her experience with Razaq, a development that led the father to make a report to Juvenile Welfare Centre, Ikorodu Division. The office subsequently alerted the police to the development.

Contacted on the issue, spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, DSP Elkana Bala, said, ” the survivor was  taken to the  hospital for treatment and forensic examination. The suspect, a tiller and father of two, has been   arrested by detectives from the Juvenile Welfare Centre, Ikorodu Police Station.

“The Commissioner of Police has directed that the case be transferred to Gender Unit, Command Headquarters Ikeja for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution”.
