Locked Down Lagosians Bemoan Robbers’ Siege

Residents of Alagbado axis in Alimosho Local Government Area, Lagos State have bemoaned the siege on the area by armed robbers lamenting the failure of the police to rescue them from the marauders.

Many of them have now resorted to keeping vigil in the night and forming vigilante groups to protect their neighbourhoods.

Many of them took to the microblogging platform, Twitter, to criticize operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) for not coming to their aid, during the period of the armed robbery activities.

The development has led many Nigerians on Twitter to lambast the operatives of SARS, who they claimed only molest innocent citizens, instead of engaging in their anti-robbery responsibilities.

@drpenking tweeted: “SARS means Special Anti-Robbery Squad. Their primary duty should be to tackle and stall armed robbery attacks. But they are doing every other thing apart from their duty especially terrorizing young good-looking men.SARS please come and restore normalcy in Lagos. #LagosUnrest.”
