How Friends And Foes Are Reacting To Kyari’s Death

Many prominent Nigerians have reacted to the death of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari. Among those reacting are those who stood on opposite poles with the late banker, lawyer, journalist and politician in his lifetime.
Kyari tested positive to the deadly Coronavirus on March 24, 2020.
Nigerians from all political divides have taken to the microblogging platform to comment over his death.
Femi Fani-Kayode who worked with Kyari in his father’s law chamber, (Fani-Kayode and Sowemimo) and schooled with him commented thus @realFFK: “I have lost a friend of 40 years. We were at Cambridge together. We worked in my father’s law firm together. We remained close throughout right up until the end even though we disagreed politically. Abba was a good man: a man of honor & a loyal friend. May his soul rest in peace.”
Former presidential candidate, Dele Momodu writing at @DeleMomodu tweeted: “The Chief of Staff to the President MALAM ABBA KYARI has died according to the President’s SA Media FEMI ADESINA. May his soul Rest in Peace.”
Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad writing @BashirAhmaad tweeted: “Abba Kyari certainly was one of the most misunderstood people in the history of Nigeria. Those who had the opportunity to know him personally will tell you how extremely a good person he was. A man of honor, will be remembered as someone who sacrificed his life for this country.”
Former Senator Dino Melaye writing @dino_melaye tweeted: “May the soul of Abba Kyari the chief of staff to Mr. President rest in peace. May God grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss. Everyone must complete this circle someday. Be prepared.”
Former Senator Shehu Sani writing @ShehuSani tweeted: “Abba Kyari; The President has lost a trusted & loyal friend. A man who took the bullets of his master with smiles, calmness & silence. We knew his cap & his colors but never his mind or his own side of his story. He will be missed as a Punchman or a punch.”
Social media activist, Fisayo Soyombo writing @fisayosoyombo tweeted: “I sincerely hope that Nigerians do not gloat over the death of Mallam Abba Kyari. May his soul rest in peace.
Death is the end that all of us must suffer. One death won’t transform our health sector overnight.We still have our work cut out for us.”
@AbdulAbmJ tweeted: “Our opinions are immaterial. It is now between him and his God and sooner or later, you and your God! It is a one way traffic. Everyone; young or old, rich or poor, powerful or powerless is on the queue. May the soul of Mallam Abba and all our departed Rest In Peace amen.”
