COVID-19: Jack Ma Makes Third Donation To Africa

Chinese Billionaire and Philanthropist, Jack Ma has announced the donation of a third set of medical supplies to Africa to fight against COVID-19 in the continent.

Jack Ma, the founder of Ali Baba Group, made the announcement, via a tweet on his verified Twitter handle, on Monday.

The donation includes 4.6 million masks, 500,000 swabs & test kits, 300 ventilators, 200,000 clothing sets, 200,000 face shields, 2000 thermal guns, 100 body temp. scanners and 500,000 pairs of gloves.

On March 16, Ma made his first donation to Africa, the shipment contained 20,000 test kits, 100,000 masks and 1,000 protective suits and face shields for medical use.

On April 6, the Chinese billionaire also announced his second donation the shipment contained  500 ventilators, 200,000 suits and face shields, 2,000 thermometers, one million swabs, and extraction kits as well as 500,000 gloves.

The second donation was distributed by Ethiopian Airlines, and Nigeria got its own supplies at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

On Monday, April 20, Ma announced his third donation.

Africa has a total of 23,018 confirmed cases of COVID-19. 5,847 of the cases have recovered, and 1,131 deaths have been recorded.
