Edo: Akerele Elusive As DSS Searches Home
Operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS on Sunday evening conducted a search of the Benin-City residence of Mr. Taiwo Akerele, the immediate past Chief of Staff to Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State.
The search was conducted as Mr. Akerele continued to keep mum and shy away from the public as the mystery over his resignation continued to swell.
The search followed an invitation to the former CoS’ personal assistant, Jaspa Olowojoba to come and clear Akerele’s personal belongings from the office.
On arrival he was allowed to clear the belongings but was trailed by the security men numbering about 25 to Akerele’s residence where a thorough search in the presence of Olowojoba.
The security men a source said arrived Akerele’s residence at about 5.00 p.m. in about four vehicles including an 18-seater bus.
Following the search, it was gathered that the security men went away with the PA but Akerele has kept the political landscape in suspense as he is said to have kept his phones off and as such leaving people to wonder over his surprising action.
