How Man Brought COVID-19 To Ebonyi From Ondo
Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State on Sunday narrated how a businessman cum transporter brought coronavirus into the state.
In a statewide broadcast, the governor said:
“Today 26 April, 2020, unfortunately, I wish to announce the first COVID-19 index case in Ebonyi.
“The first case is a 31-year-old man from Ukawu in Onicha Local Government Area of the state.
“He owns a hire purchase business with his Sienna vehicle which he uses to carry food items to Ore, Ondo State. After selling those food items, he usually brings passengers from there to the South-East.
“He had made two journeys this year, one, March 29 before travelling back to Ebonyi on April 1, the second, April 12.
“While in Ore, he could not take passengers and bring back to South-East and he had to wait for some time in Ore, sleeping in motor parks and filling station,” the governor said.
