7 Contacts Of Adamawa Index Case Test Negative

All seven primary contacts of the COVID-19 Index case in Adamawa State have tested negative to the virus, the State Ministry of Health said on Tuesday.

The report which was co-signed by the state epidemiologist, Dr. Pembi Emmanuel, and the World Health Organisation, WHO Surveillance Officer, Dr. Jerry Pantuvo, affirmed that only one positive case has been recorded in the state.

“Index case is a 47-year-old man who was diagnosed  with  cough, fever and body weakness on his return from Kano on the 14th April, 2020″

“Sample was collected on 18/04/2020.”

” Patient is stable with all vital signs return to normal, “

” A total of 25 suspected cases have been investigated, 1 positive, 7 negative and 17 pending,” the report said.

The report further affirmed that 84 contacts are still under follow-up of the 94 registered contacts.
