Lockdown: Who’s Deceiving Buhari? Actress Fumes

Veteran Nollywood Actress Hilda Dokubo has questioned the rationale of President Muhammadu Buhari decision to ease lockdown, asking that “Who exactly is lying to Mr. President.”

Ms. Dokubo argued that the ease of lockdown in Lagos and Ogun States including Abuja was an ill-informed decision, noting that the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 did not advise the President properly.

The actress, in a video posted on Instagram, said the streets of the aforementioned states were yet to be fumigated, noting that casualty might increase in the coming days.

“Who exactly is lying to Mr. President? Who? The president has announced the easing of the lockdown on the strength of a lie. Who is lying to the president?

“We’ve been locked down for 5 weeks, prior to the lockdown, they made a commitment of testing 1,500 persons everyday, 1,500 persons times 14 days is 21,000 times 4 weeks is 42,000. How then can the committee tell us, that have tested slightly above 10,000?

“Today, We’ve close to 2,000 persons have tested positive, if we used the strength of 10,000 total already tested and 2,000 already infected. That place is at 20% infection, that is higher than any other country,” she said.

She argued that Nigeria should avoid the mistakes of Ghana, who had prematurely lifted her lockdown and the consequences of that action is showing in the increase in the number of COVID-19.

She advised those who will be engaging in their daily activities starting from May 4 to take preventive measures in order to avoid contracting the virus.
