How More Coronavirus Came To Ebonyi From Lagos

Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi has narrated how two persons brought COVID-19 to the state, bringing the total confirmed cases in the state to 5.
According to the governor, the fourth patient returned from Lagos, with the virus, while the fifth patient contract the virus from the state’s temporary isolation centre when she came in contact with the third patient of COVID-19 in the state.
Umahi made this known on Saturday from the COVID-19 situation room.
On the 4th case, the governor said, the 22 years old boy returned from Lagos and was intercepted by members of the state COVID-19 task force who brought him to the state’s temporary isolation centre where his blood sample was collected for testing.
“The 4th case is a 22 years old boy who lives in Ojo Lagos. He left Lagos on 26 and entered Ebonyi through Nkalagu border. And from there entered bus to Ezzamgbo junction. Thereafter he entered bus to Ede Ishieke in Ebonyi local government,” he said.
On the 5th case, Umahi said the lady returned to the state from Enugu with her family, but was brought to the state temporary isolation centre in line with the state government directive that those coming outside the state should be tested, while at the temporary isolation centre, she came in contact with the third index case in the state.
“The fifth case is a 24 year old girl. A hair dresser from Awgu in Uburu in Ohaozara Local Government Area. She resides at No 30 Queens close Ọkpara Avenue in Enugu.
“She was picked from Uburu to stadium. While at the stadium she had contact with the third case and this evening her result came out and she tested positive,” the governor said.
However, other members of her family tested negative.
The governor urged residents of the state not to panic that the state government was working tirelessly to prevent the spread of the virus.
