Why 15-Year-Old Ibo Boy Wedded 22-Year-Old Lady

The shocking report that a 15-year-old boy named Abraham Samuel Onuoha got married to a 22-year old lady, Anurika John in Amaiyi, Igbere in Abia State has gripped many. The boy is seven years younger than his wife.

The news was circulated on opera news.

The lady is from Akeze in Ebonyi State.

Even shockingly the marriage which was conducted on Sunday, April 26, 2020 in the Igbere branch of the Assemblies of God Church was sanctioned by both the church and the mother of the groom.

The mother of the groom, Mrs. Peace Abraham who is a widow said Samuel’s father died in 2010, five years after he was born in 2005 leaving him behind as an only son.

His birth came many years after the couple had waited for a child.

Rev. Okoro Ogbu, the minister who presided over the wedding also charged the congregation not to be shocked by the marriage.
