By Ayodele Oluwafemi
The Lagos State Government has announced the recovery and discharge of an additional 37 COVID-19 patients from its isolation facilities.
In the space of two days, Lagos has discharged 97 COVID-19 patients, as the state witnessed its highest daily number of COVID-19 recoveries, on Tuesday, with 60 patients discharged.
The development brings the number of discharged patients in the state to 358.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday, in an update posted across his social media platforms, said “5 from Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, 25 from Onikan and 7 from Eti-Osa Isolation Centres were discharged today having fully recovered and tested negative to #COVID19 in two consecutive test readings.”
He said, “With this, the total number of cases successfully managed and discharged from our isolation facilities has risen to 358.
“What this indicates is that while our numbers of confirmed cases are rising, we are also maintaining a significant discharge rate of our active cases.
“While we are encouraged by this, I will like to remind residents that the #EaseOfLockdown is not an excuse for us to rush out. We must remain safe by following the advice of our health experts,” he said.
