The Lagos State Government has temporarily closed down a hotel and a club in Badagry West Local Council Development Area of the state, for allegedly opening business in defiance to lockdown directives.

Maggi Hotel and Tambari Theatre Art were the affected facilities named.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Solomon Bonu, in a statement, on Sunday, noted that it was discovered that the night club has become an avenue for “high level of immorality.”

Bonu argued that the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture were not strictly adhered to, despite several calls, noting that legal action would be instituted against the owners of the premises.

“We’ll bring the full weight of the law on these erring operators and ensure that they show total compliance level before they can regain access to these facilities. This, the government believes, will send a signal to others who are still operating illegally in different parts of the state,” he said.
