Actor Mourns Living In Bondage Star, Chizoba Boye

Ejike Asiegbu, a veteran Nollywood Actor and Producer has described the death of Chizoba Boye, a renowned Nigerian Actress, Producer, and Presenter, as a big loss to the movie industry.

Asiegbu. A Film Director told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Tuesday that the death of the actress was a sad and unfortunate one.

According to him, Chizoba was a wonderful actress, a committed and hardworking individual who brought professionalism to bear in all the roles she played.

“I am still shocked over the death of Chizoba. She has been in the movie scene and I have known her for over 30 years as a consummate artiste, always striving for perfection in all she did.

“She was a pioneer actress in popular ‘Living in Bondage’ and her role in that movie made her so popular. She will be remembered for that and other Nollywood movies,’’ he said.

She also featured as ‘Aunty Abike’ in the popular television series ‘Tinsel Town’.

Her Igbo comedy series ‘Ka Anyi Si Ebi’ was a star feature on DSTV Igbo channel; being, the first Igbo series in contemporary times.

“It is indeed another sad chapter in the Nollywood industry. My heart goes out to the husband, family, loved ones, fans and the movie industry at large.

“I pray for God’s grace and strength for everyone that is related or connected to her in one way or the other to overcome this great loss, Rest in Peace Chizoba,” Asiegbu said.

NAN reports that the actress who died on Sunday at the age of 52 after battling diabetes and high blood pressure, was married to Sam Boye, a Movie Director.
