Manager Calls For Celebration As Majek Dies At 71

Majek Fashek’s manager, Uzoma Omenka early on Tuesday confirmed the death of the celebrated reggae star.

Majek Fashek whose legendary album Prisoner of Conscience with the celebrated track Send Down The Rain died in New York late on Monday.

News of the death swiftly swept across the Atlantic first as rumours until Omenka who has been in touch with him as he received the latest treatment called for celebrations on the passage of the man he dubbed a legend.

Fashek, 71 collaborated with some of the best musicians in the world including , Tracy Chapman, Jimmy Cliff, Michael Jackson, Snoop Dogg, and Beyoncé.

He was survived by his son Randy Fashek and is believed to have divorced from his wife, Rita Fashek in 2015.
