Ondo Dep Gov Dumps APC, May Defect With 9 Lawmakers

The deputy governor of Ondo State, Mr. Agboola Ajayi has formally resigned from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC it was confirmed on Sunday.

In a letter dated June 20, 2020, addressed to the ward chairman of Ward 2 in Ese Odo Local Government Area of the state, the deputy governor also thanked the party for giving him the opportunity to serve in public office.

The deputy governor is expected to formally defect to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP on Monday.

There are speculations that as many as nine members of the State House of Assembly could be defecting with him from the APC to the PDP.

Ajayi also picked his membership card of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday.

His resignation from APC had  put an end to the speculation trailing his planned defection.

Fielding questions from newsmen, Ajayi said: ” I just tendered my resignation as a member of the APC to the chairman of this ward and also to the chairman of Ese-Odo APC.

” Both of them are here, we pray that by the grace of God, Apoi Ward 2 will witness more development and progress.”
