Kekemeke governorship

Mr. Issac Kekemeke, one of Gov Rotimi Akeredou’s rivals in the battle for the APC ticket ahead of the October 19 Ondo governorship contest, has prayed for his quick recovery from COVID-19.

The governor, who tested positive to the ailment on Tuesday, went on self-isolation after announcing his status.

The aspirant’s message was contained in a statement by Mr. Demola Ijabiyi, Chairman, Strategic Mobilisation and Communication Committee, Kekemeke Campaign Organisation, and made available to newsmen in Akure.

“We have just received with shock, the news that the governor has tested positive for the coronavirus disease.

“We thank God for the discovery at the asymptomatic stage; we also commend our governor for this disclosure and for his decision to self-isolate immediately,” he said.

Kekemeke remarked that the governor’s decision to self-isolate had demonstrated his deep concern and care for the health and welfare of those around him and those who would necessarily come into contact with him by virtue of his high office.

The aspirant urged people of the state and beyond to begin to offer special prayers for the governor, so that healing from God would reach him.
