Lovers of good music couldn’t help falling in love with him after he released his debut single “Holla at your boy” in 2011. After the hit track, he hasn’t failed to deliver pleasant sounds to the ears of his fans and he has reached for the stars.
The Nigerian music sensation is presently regarded as among the best musicians to have emerged from the African continent.
Added to that, he is the first Afrobeats artist to appear in the 2018 Guinness World Records for his contribution to “One Dance”. His music brings joy to the hearts of many and he is loved by so many people around the world.
Popularly known as Wizkid, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun began singing at the tender age of 11 with a couple of friends from his church.
As he grew older, he began to visit the studios, where he saw veteran Nigerian musicians like Tuface and Sound Sultan come to record their songs. Those experiences shaped him into the legend he is today.
He made a name for himself on the international scene in 2016 after his song with Drake titled “One Dance”. The song was number one on the music charts in 15 countries including many western countries.
Today, he has had collaborations with various music stars from all over the world. Much people idolize him in Nigeria, which has also caused a feud between his supporters and those of another eminent musician, Davido.
He has won a lot of local and international awards. The music world is also anticipating for him to win the coveted Grammy award.
