Outrage As Nigerian Accused Of Rape Kills Self

Angry reactions have trailed the death of United States based Madudueze Izuchukwu who allegedly committed suicide after he was accused of rape, a claim he repeatedly denied.
Izuchukwu was the CEO of Uhuru Design, a clothing brand who hailed from Anambra state.
A Twitter user @Nanichianese took to the microblogging platform, Twitter to make a register of names of rapists, while adding the name of Izuchukwu to the list.
When the accused, Izuchukwu, reached out to the accuser @Nanichianese on reasons his name appeared on list, the accuser did not give him a listening ear, instead he was dragged on Twitter and labeled a rapist.
“I’ve had some folx asked for a compounded list of abusers to avoid for safety purposes. Ill add to this thread as I find out more names……….” @Nanichianese tweeted
The above message of @Nanichianese included the name of Izuchukwu and others as rapists.
Reacting to the accusation, the accused tweeted @Legend_izu, “If anyone is mad about the way, I’m speaking up I’m sorry, I sincerely don’t mean to discredit anyone’s story. Also please understand that I reached out to the people involved in private for clarity and my efforts fell on deaf ears.”
Amidst the accusation, it was later learnt that Izuchukwu was accused of non-physical sexual assault by one Twitter user @Neko-chan, who reported to @Nanichianese, who added the name of the deceased to the register of rapists on Twitter.
Writing his suicide note on Twitter, Izuchukwu tweeted “oh and if you’re reading this, I’m dead lol.”
The development sparked outrage on Twitter, as many people vented out their annoyance on false rape accusation that led to the suicide committed by Izuchukwu.
The hashtag #JusticeforIzu has been created, as many Twitter users are demanding for the arrest of those who accused Izuchukwu of rape, an accusation, many believe is not true.
The development has led to the debate on the need for prosecution of those who raised false accusation of rape, in a bid to serve as deterrence to others.
