Katsina Villagers Carry Corpses Of Bandits’ Victims To Monarch

Two persons have been killed and 17 abducted in a new attack by bandits in three local government areas of Katsina State.
The locals identified those killed as Malam Basiru and Sanusi Dan Almajir. Their corpses were later brought to the palace of the District Head of Batsari by angry protesters.
They also said that the marauders also abducted 17 women from Zakka village of Safana Local Government Area.
It was further gathered that a large number of cattle were also rustled during the attack.
The District Head, Malam Tukur, pleaded with the villagers to accept the act as the will of God and promised to seek security intervention, which made the villagers to return with the corpses for burial.
Confirming the incident, spokesman of the state police command, SP Gambo Isah, said two persons were killed.
He, however, said that only nine people were missing so far as eight of those abducted had been recovered through police and repentant bandits operation.
