Nigerians Split As Fayose Asks OBJ To Speak On Buhari
By Ayodele Oluwafemi
Former Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has called out former President Olusegun Obasanjo over his perceived silence on the issues of corruption and insecurity under the All Progressive Congress government led by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Fayose, in a series of tweets, on Saturday, claimed that the former President on the basis of issues of corruption and insecurity joined forces with others to ensure that Buhari became president in 2015.
“With the level of corruption and insecurity that we are seeing in Nigeria under this APC govt, former President Obasanjo is curriously silent. And it was because of alleged corruption and insecurity that Obasanjo teamed up with others to foist Buhari on Nigeria, ” he wrote
The former governor noted that the silence of the former Prsident is worrisome, wondering if Obasanjo “is tired, timid, afraid or he is no longer the Obasanjo that we used to know.”
Fayose said, “Isn’t Obasanjo’s silence worrisome? It is either Baba is tired, timid, afraid or he is no longer the Obasanjo that we used to know. Will he keep silent while the entire country is being looted away and Nigerians anywhere in the country can’t sleep with their two eyes closed?”
Mixed reactions have trailed Fayose’s judgement on Obasanjo, as some persons who reacted to the tweets agreed with him, while others disagreed.
