2023: Secret Reason Mamman Daura Spoke Out
President Muhammadu Buhari’s nephew and the alleged head of the cabal in the government made a rare outing on a BBC interview where he spoke on some political issues affecting the polity.
Among the teasers were on power rotation, his relationship with President Buhari and his influence on the government.
The famed power wheeler and former journalist was forthright in his responses released by the BBC ahead of the airing of the main interview on Saturday.
However, conspicuously missing or probably being awaited on Saturday would be his word on his relationship with Aisha Buhari, the First Lady.
Mrs. Buhari has been known to maintain a grudge against Daura and his other associates in the cabal who according to her may have negatively influenced the impact of her husband’s government.
She had in the past voiced out against Daura’s presence in the Presidential Villa.
Without a mention on Aisha, the most prominent issue as released by the BBC was his assertion against zoning.
A newspaper editor speaking on why Daura, who is known to be famously secretive in his wheeling dealing told GWG on Wednesday that the cabal may be wanting to test the waters ahead of 2023.
“You know they want to retain power and this is an attempt to test the waters. They want to see how retaining power in the North would go down with the rest of the country and I suppose that is what we are seeing,” the newspaper editor said.
The cabal has been severely reduced this year with the loss of two of its most prominent members, Abba Kyari, the erstwhile chief of staff to the president and Mallam Isa Funtua, an in-law to the president.
