Nigerians Mock Reintegration Of B/Haram
Give Strong Support To Ndume’s Opposition To Reintegration Of ‘Repentant’ Militants

Many Nigerians have taken side with the stance of Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South that the deradicalisation of ex-Boko Haram members by the Nigerian Army is a misplaced priority and a disservice to the victims.
Senator Ndume has been vocal against the integration of over 600 ‘repentant’ Boko Haram members into the society.
The Senator, while speaking in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, on Wednesday, said his constituents who are badly hit by the atrocities of the Boko Haram sect are against the integration of those who brought their woes.
Ndume lamented the rationale behind the Operation Safe Corridor programme, saying that the victims of terrorism are left to suffer, while the predators are shown act of hospitality.
“This is a misplaced priority that is not supposed to happen now. It is okay to deradicalise but the timing is completely wrong, this is a situation where we still have over one million displaced persons in various camps and communities, they are still dealing with the trauma of the insurgency,” Ndume said.
He lamented that while the IDPs could barely survive but that the supposedly deradicalised Boko Haram militants were being pampered.
Many Nigerians have taken to the microblogging platform, Twitter, to support the stance of Ndume, while criticizing FG for implementing such a policy, which they argued is illogical considering the plight of those who were affected by their atrocities.
