How I Stopped Growing At 15 – Dare Adeboye

Pastor Dare Adeboye, son of Pastor Enoch Adeboye has recounted how he stopped growing at the age of 15 after he prayed to God not to allow him to outgrow a pair of Chinos trousers his mother, Pastor Folu Adeboye bought for him.

Speaking during the ongoing convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Dare said he was so excited after his mother returned from a trip to London with a pair of Chinos trousers from Mark and Spencer that he became so excited.

According to him after he received the gift it was as if he had been translated to heaven and speaking jovially, he said he became the toast of the girls around him in school and church.

While speaking on spiritual growth to the youths during the virtual convention, he said that because he was so excited, he asked God not to allow him to outgrow the trousers.

“And you know God hears the answers of the little ones and God answered my prayer and that is how I remained at that height,” he said.

According to him his seemingly foolish prayer at that age is what made it that he could not wear some of the wears from his relatively well built dad.

He thus enjoined the youths not to be satisfied with what and where they are but to desire spiritual growth at all points.

He thus prayed for the audience that anything that they presently desiring which would stunt spiritual growth should be refused them.

According to him the measure of spiritual growth is reflected in the desire to preach.

He said: “You are not too young to share the gospel, to witness to your classmates, to your neighbours. “This is because you were made to be a witness to your generation.”
