Makinde Names Members For Health Boards

Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has appointed Mr Abiodun Dada-Awoleye, a former member of the House of Representatives, as the Chairman of the State Primary Health Care Board (PHCB).

This is contained in a statement signed by the Special Assistant (Print Media) to the governor, Moses Alo, and released to newsmen in Ibadan on Thursday.

The governor, according to the statement, also appointed Dr Gbola Adetunji, former Commissioner for Health in the state, as Chairman, Hospital Management Board.

Other appointments announced by the governor include: Babatunde Eesuola, a former House of Assembly member, as Chairman of the Community and Social Development Agency, while Mr Ademola Aderinto was appointed Special Assistant on Environment.

Awoleye, the newly-appointed PHCB chairman, holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) certificate in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.

He was a member of the House of Representatives, representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency between 2011 and 2019.

Dr Adetunji, holds M.B.B.S degree from the University of Ibadan Medical School in 1973, and is a two-time Commissioner for Health in Oyo State

Eesuola, who was appointed as the chairman of CSDA, studied Political Science/Education at the University of Ibadan and also holds a Master’s degree in Social Welfare and Adult Education.

He served as a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly between 2003 and 2007.

Aderinto, the new Special Assistant on Environment, holds a second degree in Construction Project Management from the University of Ibadan.

The appointments, according to letters signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun, are with immediate effect.

The governor has charged the new appointees to see their appointments as a call to serve the state.
