Rants Trail PDP, APC, Visits To Benin Monarch

Nigerian social media commentators have taken to Twitter to assess the conduct of the two leading campaigns in Edo State in their approach to the palace of the revered Benin monarch, Oba Ewaure II.
While the PDP was flayed for not presenting kola nut and its officials wearing cap, the APC was also tongue lashed for not observing the COVID-19 protocol enunciated by the APC administration in their approach to the Benin monarch.
The director of protocol at the time of the visit of the PDP delegation was sacked for the breach.
According to some twitter users, it was disrespectful of the PDP officials to wear caps into the palace of the Oba of Benin, saying the act was a disrespectful to his Royal Highness .
Recall that , the former Chairman of the APC , Adams Oshiomhole had earlier accused Governor Godwin Obaseki of disrespecting the Oba of Benin by wearing a cap as he visited the Monarch last week.
However, some twitter users were also quick to dig out pictures of Oshiomhole wearing cap in the past in the palace.
But other users have also condemned the APC leaders who also visited the palace of the Monarch for breaching the COVID-19 Protocols.
They said that the PDP during their visit observed the COVID-19 guidelines while the APC who were the initiators of the guidelines refused to adhere to the Protocols.
This is even as they said the royal family was not biased politically to anyone as the institution was non- partisan so the Oba would not support any of his children against the other.
