New Wave Of COVID-19 In Lagos

Nigeria recorded 453 new cases of the COVID-19 pandemic on Wednesday and no death just as the disease seemed to be resurging in Lagos.

After recording declining new cases at the beginning of the month with figures in double digits, the pandemic appeared to be resurging in Lagos after the state for the second time in as many days reported three figure new cases.

Lagos reported 113 new cases on Wednesday up from the 107 new cases reported on Tuesday. The development is bound to be disconcerting for Lagosians who had begun to express optimist on

The state was followed by FCT and Plateau which reported 72 and 59 new cases respectively on Wednesday.

The 453 new cases brought the total number of cases in the country to 47,743 with 33,943 ad 956 deaths. The new cases were from 15 states and the FCT.

For the first time in several days there was no mortality recorded from the pandemic according to the data supplied by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.
