WAEC Speaks On ‘Leaked’ Mathematics Paper

The social media report that the Mathematics question paper of the West African Examication Council (WAEC) got leaked, has been refuted by the examination body.
The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) was scheduled to commence on Monday, August, 17th, 2020 with Mathematics as first subject.
As at Sunday night, some sections of the social media had been awash with reports that the question paper for Monday had leaked, as screenshots of the purported question paper were uploaded.
A twitter user @iotama22 tweeted: “WAEC maths paper scheduled for today has leaked since weekend according to sources. See the paper here. What kind of a country is this for God’s sake??? I hope the people responsible will be investigated and punished as appropriate.”
Reacting to the tweet, WAEC Nigeria dismissed the report, saying scammers engage in such gimmicks every year to deceive gullible candidates.
“This is fake. Scammers do this every year. Only gullible candidates fall prey,” WAEC wrote
