Nigerian singer, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz has appealed to the  Federal Government to allow the entertainment industry to open up for business.

Falz asked FG to start with the cinemas with all COVID-19 safety precautions in place.

The singer’s appeal came, on Monday,  hours after Hadi Sirika, the minister of aviation, announced the resumption of international flights from the 29th of August, 2020.

“Glad to announce the resumption of international flights from the 29th of August, 2020. Beginning with Lagos and Abuja as we did with the domestic flight resumption. Protocols and procedures will be announced in due course. We thank you for your patience.” Sirika wrote.

The ‘bop daddy’ crooner, in a series of tweets, on Monday, argued that several people working in the creative sector have lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, while noting video of political gathering have appeared online, in which safety precautions were flagrantly disregarded.

“The entertainment industry must be allowed to gradually get back in business!! Let’s start with cinemas reopening with all safety precautions in place!! #savecinemas #SaveEntertainment.

“Right now, we don’t see anything but a government that contributes little or nothing to its creative sector and continues to attempt to stifle the sector in every way @MBuhari @ProfOsinbajo

“Thousands of people have been left without any way to earn for several months. Let’s not even start to talk about all the videos that have surfaced of political rallies happening, clearly neglecting all safety precautions,” Falz wrote.
