Confusion Trails Buhari’s Nephew’s UK Trip

President Muhammadu Buhari’s powerful nephew and reputed head of the cabal, Mamman Daura is hale and hearty, a presidency source has confirmed to Leadership Newspaper.

The assertion came as a counter to wild online reports that Daura had taken ill and had been flown to the United Kingdom. Saharareporters had earlier reported in an exclusive report that Daura had suffered symptoms of COVID-19 since last Friday prompting what the online portal claimed as a medical evacuation on Wednesday.

Leadership newspaper quoting a top presidency source had quoted a presidency source as saying that Daura is in good health, adding that “he will return after finishing the business engagement that necessitated his trip to the United Kingdom.

“Daura is fine, and in good health. The rumour that he was flown abroad was baseless and false. He is in London for a business trip that was long planned. Once he is done, he will return.”

The report followed the Saharareporters story about the medical evacuation.

However, if it is true that he departed the country on a business trip when the airports are yet to open will be another issue for the administration given that the airports are yet to open for international passenger traffic.

Daura is the only remaining survivor of the tripod that made up the famous cabal around the presidency following the earlier decease of Mallam Abba Kyari and Alhaji Isa Funtua.
