A Man Of Many Feats: Godwin Ehigiamusoe @ 62
The birth of a new born baby comes with unquantifiable excitement from family, friends and other well-wishers. There is a strong desire from the parents to ensure the children grow up to maximize their potential, reach the crescendo of their chosen careers and have a positive impact on their immediate environment.
However, only few people are able to actualize their aspirations in life as well as transform the lives of the people around them. One member of this hallowed club is Dr. Godwin EseiwiEhigiamusoe. On Thursday, August 21, 1958, the business icon was born in Benin, Edo State, Nigeria and has emerged as a rare transformational figure in our society. He has achieved rare feats in the Microfinance subsector of the banking industry yet he carries himself with candour and humility; traits that are almost extinct among the upper echelons of our society especially as pervasively materialistic values are currently espoused in our country.
That is why we must celebrate the birth and exemplary life of this endearing individual and acknowledge his impact in every sphere of society that remains unparalleled among his peers. He has always dedicated his life to constantly developing wealth creating opportunities for the economically disadvantaged members of the society and ensuring they contribute to the economic prosperity of our dear country. He has been a fervent believer in the social cohesion in our country hence he is an unending patriot of Nigeria.
This beacon of light has been a crusader for poverty eradication, economic liberation for the down-trodden, gender equality, environmental conservation and the physical as well as mental well-being of Nigerians. As a result, these philosophies have been clearly reflected in the fabric/DNA of the companies he has established.
One of such organizations is LAPO Microfinance Bank Limited; a pioneer Microfinance Institution wholly dedicated to improving the socio-economic status of people on the lowest rung of the economic ladder. The bank has impacted positively on women who happen to be some of the most vulnerable members of the society. This has led to an increase in economically independent female entrepreneurs and reduced the rate of poverty in the country.
His passion for excellent health care service delivery led him to establish Benin Medical Care aimed at providing quality medical services to a multitude of Nigerians and bridge the health care gap currently experienced in the country. The facility is well equipped and boasts of a sophisticated cancer screening centre to curtail the rising incidence of cancer cases in the country.
Dr. Ehigiamusoe also founded GOXI Microinsurance Company to help protect small businesses and low-income earners from incidents that threaten their business existence. He also heads LAPO NGO which is solely dedicated to supporting charitable causes that bring succor to the most vulnerable members in our society. These include a scholarship fund, skills acquisition scheme, and support of orphanages. His business interests also span printing, asset leasing and IT supplies.
He is currently the CEO, LAPO Group and advisor to many thriving businesses and interests.
It is evident that Dr. Godwin Ehigiamusoe has contributed positively to every facet of social and economic life.
Therefore, we use this special day to wish the amiable celebrant many more years of unrivalled success in all his endeavours.
