Oyo Police Search For Men Who Kidnapped Lady, Killed Fiance

The police in Oyo have launched a man-hunt for two other suspects involved in the kidnap of a female farmer in the state and the killing of her fiancé.
The police disclosure follows the arrest of Abubakar Mohammed and Ayankunle Ayaleye, in the kidnap of Miss Modupeoluwa Oyetoso, and killing of her fiancé, Opeoluwa Oladipo, in the Lanlete area of the Ibarapa East Local Government Area of the state.
The state Police Public Relations Officer ( PPRO) ,Gbenga Fadeyi, confirmed the moves.
According to the PPRO a single-barrel gun which was used for the operation was recovered from the suspects. Also recovered was a Techno phone and N22,500, which was part of the ransom paid to secure Modupeoluwa’s release from captivity, was also recovered.
He stated that efforts were being made to arrest two other fleeing members of the kidnap syndicate.
“Information reaching me on the kidnapping case at Odo-Edu Igbodudu Road, Lanlate, Ibarapa East Local Government Area of Oyo State, where one Modupeoluwa Oyetoso reported that her fiancé, Opeoluwa Oladipo, was shot in a Toyota Highlander SUV and she was kidnapped, has revealed that two suspects, Abubakar Mohammed, 30, and Ayankunle Ayaleye, 37, have been arrested in connection with the case.
“The sum of N22,500, which was part of the ransom collected, was recovered in addition to one Tecno phone and a single-barrelled gun used for the operation. Efforts have been intensified to arrest two other fleeing members of the criminal gang,”he said.
He said Modupeoluwa had identified the suspects, saying she was present at the Anti- Kidnap on the day the suspects were interviewed.
It would be recalled that the couple was attacked by four men while returning from the farm at about 5pm.
Oladipo had attempted to manoeuvre his way to escape, when one of the gunmen shot him dead and subsequently kidnapped his fiancée Modupeoluwa to a nearby forest.
