Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has come under criticism on the social media for his verbal attack against a journalist who asked him a question on the sponsorship of his recent trips across the South-South and the Southeast.

At a press conference after a visit to Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, Eyo Charles, the Daily Trust reporter had asked him on who was bankrolling his trips leading him to launch a barrage of verbal personal assaults on the reporter.

“I could see from your face before you got here, how stupid you are. Don’t ever talk to me like that. Who do you think you’re talking to? Bankroll who? You think I am one of those ones you… from who, when, how? You have a small mind, very small mind. Don’t judge me by your own standards.”

The video clip of the incident has been posted  on the microblogging platform, sparking several reactions.

Fani-Kayode abusive comments came as a surprise to many, considering that the former minister usually criticizes President Muhammadu Buhari for what he perceived as tyrannical disposition.

Some Nigerians lambasted the former minister for addressing the journalist in such abusive manner, who is just performing his duties as a journalist.

Some expressed their annoyance towards the other journalists who were present at the press conference and were seen begging Fani-Kayode, while he was denigrating their colleague for a harmless question.
